Stay on Track with Task Tracking and Notification Reminders in JD Edwards

In today’s fast-paced business environment, staying on top of critical tasks and deadlines is essential for operational efficiency. A new feature is coming soon to JD Edwards Release 25: Task Tracking and Notification Reminders. These enhancements are designed to streamline task management, improve visibility, and ensure timely completion of important assignments.

Enhancing Task Management with Task Tracking

Enterprise workflows involve a constant stream of activities, from processing purchase orders to managing approvals and project tasks. To maintain smooth operations, businesses need to track the status of these tasks effectively.

The new Task Tracking feature in JD Edwards allows users to set due dates for tasks assigned through orchestration and notification messages. With this feature, recipients can register responses such as Approved, Denied, Complete, or In Process, helping businesses monitor progress and perform historical analysis.

For example, if a notification assigns an approval task to multiple recipients, each user can provide their response directly through an action link within the message. The system records timestamps for task assignments and completions, enabling organizations to analyze performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize workflows.

Never Miss a Deadline with Notification Reminders

Managing multiple notifications can be overwhelming, especially when tasks require immediate attention. The Notification Reminders feature helps users stay organized by providing a visual indicator of due dates. Similar to email flags, these indicators differentiate between:

• Past due
• Due today
• Not due yet

This feature ensures that time-sensitive tasks are prioritized and completed on schedule. Users can also customize due dates, remove reminders, or group notifications for better task management. With the Message Center, notifications can be sorted and grouped by due date, making it easier to focus on what matters most.

A Clear View of Task Assignments

With Release 25, JD Edwards also introduces the My Tasks feature, which clearly distinguishes between informational messages and task assignments. This enhancement allows users to filter and sort messages based on due dates, ensuring that high-priority assignments are addressed first.
